Privacy Policy

bamboo.tt ("bamboo.tt", "we", "us") helps car owners in Trinidad & Tobago find auto parts and get quotes from local stores. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Account details — your name and email when you sign in with Google, Facebook, or email, or a temporary anonymous session if you continue as a guest.
• Your garage — vehicles you save (make, model, year, colour, body type).
• Searches & requests — the parts you search for, the vehicle a search is for, and the search mode (fastest, cheapest, nearest, full listing).
• Approximate location — only when you choose the "nearest" mode, to sort stores by distance. If you decline, we fall back to Port of Spain. We do not track your location in the background.
• Store applicants — if you apply to list a store, we collect your business name, area, contact details, Instagram/Facebook page links, and the verification documents you upload (business registration and storefront photos).
• Technical data — IP address and basic request data used for security and rate-limiting, and essential cookies used to keep you signed in.

2. How we use your information

• To run the service — matching your search to stores that stock the part and generating instant quotes.
• To connect you with a store when you choose to contact them.
• To review and verify store applications.
• To send transactional emails (e.g. application status).
• To protect the service against spam and abuse.
• To understand aggregate demand (e.g. most-searched parts) — this is not tied to your identity.

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide the service:

• With stores — when you contact a store, you reach them directly over WhatsApp or phone, and share your contact number with them at that point. Stores see the part and vehicle a request is for, not your identity, unless you tell them.
• Service providers — Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), and OpenFreeMap/MapLibre (map tiles). Vehicle image generation (Magnific) receives only make/model/year/colour — never personal data. Google and Facebook process sign-in if you use those options.
• Legal — where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.

4. Storage & security

Data is stored with Supabase. Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Verification documents are held in private storage accessible only to our review team through short-lived links. We apply rate-limiting and access controls, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

5. Retention

We keep your account and garage while your account is active. Store application documents are retained for the review process and record-keeping. You can ask us to delete your data (see below).

6. Your choices & rights

• Access, correct, or delete your saved vehicles at any time in the app.
• Request a copy of your data, or its deletion, by emailing hello@bamboo.tt.
• Decline location access — search still works using a default location.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only, to keep you signed in and secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Children

bamboo.tt is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
